In the US, Black women are facing a complex and concerning maternal health crisis: They have a threefold higher maternal mortality rate than white women. Family planning is full of experiences shared by many, but the outcomes can vary drastically — especially if they're unable to access quality healthcare. To help address this inequality, Thinx is honored to team up with iHeartMedia on MEternal, a platform to drive awareness, provide key resources, and make donations related to Black maternal health. If you've shopped with us recently, your purchase has made a difference! Reliable access to safe menstrual hygiene and incontinence products means people can fully participate in school, work, social moments, and life in general. That's why we work with trusted organizations to make basic hygiene products accessible to everyone. In fact, we've raised over $400,000 through our cart donation program since its inception.
We're proud to have supported more than 14 grassroots organizations, including Alliance for Period Supplies, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, The Center for Reproductive Rights, The National Latina Institute for Reproductive Justice, and The Trevor Project to expand access to menstrual health products and community services like reproductive healthcare and mentoring. So far, we have donated over $1M worth of product!
